Rutgers School of Social Work is pleased to welcome almost 750 new students to the MSW program this year. TheSchool’s Office of Admissions selected this group of talented students from a pool of more than 1,500 applicants with new student enrollment up 19% from 2021.

The new students range in age from 21 to 67 years old, adding to the rich diversity of this class. Students join us from over 160 undergraduate institutions.

The School also welcomes ten new Dean's Excellence Scholars who demonstrated exceptional academic and person accomplishments in their application submissions. These students earned $6,000 and $10,000 tuition awards and the group includes scholars from the University of Michigan, University of Rochester, Morgan State University, Seton Hall University, and Rutgers.

The number of out-of-state students has grown from 8% in 2020, 13% in 2021, and up 39% from 2021. We’re thrilled that the summer advanced standing and fall online cohorts have largely contributed to a growth in the diversity of location of our students!
