The professional development certificate program supports agencies who are eager to expand their knowledge of issues surrounding interpersonal violence with the goal of cultivating a trauma informed workforce. In addition, our in-person and online training opportunities offer learning for professionals both in the field of Violence Against Women and Children and those looking for an introduction to the field. Our trainings are customizable and are offered both as individual courses and groupings.

Through use of dynamic and interactive workshops the online program provides child welfare professionals a comprehensive understanding of interpersonal violence and its impact on the children they serve, hoping to ensure staff are better equipped to provide survivor centered and trauma informed care. The Program currently has 8 online courses available for enrollment.

Education
The Rutgers University School of Social Work has a long history of offering specialized training and education on violence prevention. Our curriculum emphasizes excellence in social work practice with survivors from diverse communities. We help students develop as leaders for the field of violence prevention based on social work skills and values.

Through the Center for Research on Ending Violence (REV), Rutgers School of Social Work offers a certificate program for Master of Social Work (MSW) students. The certificate program offers students the opportunity to specialize their advanced year studies on issues of interpersonal violence and trauma in order to provide trauma informed culturally responsive social work practice effectively.
