In Ahmaud Arbery's Name, Georgia Repeals Citizen's Arrest Law, NPR: "About a year after the shooting death of Ahmaud Arbery became national news, and nearly 15 months after he was shot while jogging down a Brunswick street, Georgia has repealed the vague law that is being used to defend the men in jail for his murder."
Biden finally raised the refugee cap. Now comes the hard part, Vox: " After months of indecision and blowback from within his own party, President Joe Biden has..raised the cap on refugee admissions for 2021 to 62,500, but he has made clear he doesn’t think the US will actually admit that many people."

Gov. Murphy creates $40 million fund for undocumented immigrants, other workers, NJ Spotlight: "After a month-long hunger strike and months of protests, Gov. Phil Murphy has agreed to create a $40 million fund to help undocumented immigrants and other workers excluded from state and federal aid during the COVID-19 pandemic. The money will come from the Coronavirus Relief Fund and the remaining money from the federal CARES Act, with the potential to use some the $6 billion the state will receive from the American Rescue Plan."
Do Newark charter schools worsen segregation? A guide to the debate behind a major court case, Chalkbeat Newark: "A case currently before the state Supreme Court centers on Newark’s sprawling set of charter schools — which now enroll more than a third of the city’s public school students — and whether they have worsened school segregation."
