Professional Certificate Program and Customized Training

Professional Development Certificate Program
The professional development certificate program supports agencies who are eager to expand their knowledge of issues surrounding interpersonal violence with the goal of cultivating a trauma informed workforce. Started in 2011, the program offers agencies the opportunity to enroll in a full 10 course certificate series or choose a selection of courses to create a tailored program to meet their individual program needs. Through the exploration of core content areas such as understanding violence, screening and assessment, diversity, ethical issues, and legal resources with the addition of specialty topics like mental health, substance use, economic empowerment, and others; participants leave the program feeling empowered to support survivors and offer trauma informed services regardless of their roles of previous experience. Our course catalogue currently includes 5 core courses and 11 electives to choose from. Most often REV collaborates with state agencies such as the New Jersey Department of Children and Families or the Administrative Office of the Courts to train a cohort of staff annually however, beginning in 2020 we expanded our contract work with community-based organizations and welcome new relationships in the non- and for-profit sectors.
