Bio

Sandra Edmonds Crewe, MSW, Ph.D., ACSW, is dean emerita and professor at the Howard University School of Social Work. Dr. Crewe currently serves as FY 24-25 Sojourner Truth Social and Racial Justice Visiting Professor, Rutgers University School of Social Work. She has dedicated her career and life to enhancing the well-being of African Americans through research, scholarship, and public advocacy. Dr Crewe holds her BSW and MSW degrees from the Catholic University National Catholic School of Social Service and her Ph.D. in Social Work from Howard University. She currently serves on the Maryland Affordable Housing Trust and has held leadership positions in public and assisted housing in Prince George’s County and Montgomery County, Md.  Dr. Crewe has expertise and publications in caregiving, aging, social isolation, and community engagement and is a National Association of Social Work (NASW) Pioneer.
