Kristin Brown
Bio
Kristin R. Brown, DSW, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Program Coordinator in the Office of Policy and Oversight at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and her Master of Social Welfare from the University of California, Berkeley. Kristin brings over 15 years of clinical experience supporting veterans, first as a Readjustment Counselor and later as Director of the South Jersey Vet Center. She now works in VA Central Office combining her skills in leadership, strategic analysis, and quality assurance.
Kristin’s professional interests center on trauma-informed care, organizational change, and leadership development. She is a VA Program Management Fellow and a certified leadership coach through the VHA Leadership Coaching Program. She holds a Yellow Belt in Lean Six Sigma and is in the process of obtaining her Green Belt. Kristin graduated with her Doctorate in Social Work at Rutgers University in May 2026. Her research focuses on institutional betrayal, trust repair, and humanistic approaches to Military Sexual Trauma treatment.
