Bio

Elizabeth joined the Institute for Families in 2009 as a Program Coordinator for Transitions for Youth. In 2013, she was promoted to New Jersey Statewide Youth Advisory Board Coordinator. In that position, she worked with a team of 12 to help young leaders who have experienced foster care and homelessness advocate for improvements in the child welfare system. Elizabeth joined NJCSI’s training team in May 2017. In addition to her work with NJCSI, she has taught Diversity and Oppression and Generalist Social Work Practice II at the Rutgers School of Social Work. Elizabeth has 15 years of experience working with LGBTQIAA adolescents, first-generation college students, and youth who have experienced the child welfare system and homelessness. Before joining IFF, Elizabeth provided counseling to young people at the Hetrick-Martin Institute, the nation’s oldest and largest LGBTQIAA youth organization. She holds an LCSW in New York State and an LSW in New Jersey. Elizabeth also holds an MSW from Rutgers University and a BA in Psychology from the University of Connecticut.
