School Social Workers: Operating at the Intersection of Education and Mental Health
In this MMP, I will provide an overview of the integration of mental health services within the education system, the prevalence of current mental health challenges affecting students with a focus on how they impact marginalized populations, and strategies for how school teams can collaborate to meet the mental health needs and reduce mental health disparities facing children in schools. A case example will demonstrate how to use a school-wide approach to help provide a safe space for students with mental health needs in the school.
