Where Did My Child Go? Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Streptococcus (PANDAS)​

In this MMP, I will describe symptoms, diagnostic criteria, and recommended treatment modalities for clinical social workers to work with children and their families affected by PANDAS, Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Streptococcus.  Social workers can augment their intake process to identify and refer children for medical diagnosis while initiating appropriate mental health treatment. Cognitive behavior therapy tools to address obsessive compulsive symptoms, separation anxiety, and aggressive behaviors will be shared and demonstrated.
