Bio

Christine Chapais is an Assistant Teaching Professor who serves as Director of Online MSW Programs at Rutgers School of Social Work. Prior to her current role, Christine worked as an Assistant Director of Admissions and Recruitment for RUSSW while teaching courses as a lecturer. A Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and Certified School Social Worker in New Jersey, Christine has experience in school social work, hospice, private practice, child protection, and inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. Christine earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance with a concentration in Classical Voice and received her Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Kean University.

Currently, Christine is pursuing her Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) from RUSSW, where her research interests include paternalism and coercion in psychiatric settings, the mental well-being of participants in the entertainment industry, and online social work education. Prior to becoming a social worker, Christine traveled the country with Broadway’s First National Tour of Hairspray! The Musical and has appeared in TV and Film productions such as Law and Order. She is grateful for the opportunity to share her experience in all areas of social work and assist others toward their own goal of making positive change in this world.
