Bio
Shannon joined the Institute for Families in 2021 and has held several roles across programmatic and operational functions, including program coordination for the NJ Victim Assistance Academy and grant and administrative support to the Grow NJ Kids Training Services program. She later took on broader organizational development, award administration, and communications responsibilities as Administrative Specialist, while also providing executive support to the Institute's Director and Leadership Team.
In her current role as Senior Department Administrator, Shannon oversees a range of administrative, fiscal and operational functions to advance IFF's broad portfolio of work. She works closely with Institute leadership, program teams, and external stakeholders to support contract and award management, budgeting and forecasting, procurement, and internal operations. Beyond her administrative leadership, Shannon supports development efforts through internal and external communications, event planning, executive support, and initiatives that strengthen coordination across teams. In this capacity, she serves as a liaison with University units and external partners to ensure coordination and compliance across multi-stakeholder workflows.
Shannon obtained her MSW at Rutgers University in May 2022, with a specialization in Management and Policy and a certificate in Human Services Management. As a graduate student, she served as Management and Policy Student Representative on the Rutgers School of Social Work’s Graduate Student Association Executive Board. Her passion for systems-level social work, and her prior experience in private sector education administration, inform her work at IFF. Shannon has been a Licensed Social Worker in New Jersey since 2022.
