Carmen Castro
Bio
Carmen Castro joined the School of Social Work in June 2023 and serves as the Assistant Director of Business Services | HR & Program Manager. She comes to us from the Faculty Diversity Collaborative (FDC) of the office of University Equity and Inclusion at Rutgers. Prior to her role at the FDC, Carmen served under Academic Affairs as a senior administrator overseeing day-to-day office operations and managing career and professional development activities for the postdoctoral community. She also served on the leadership team for the Rutgers Connection Network (RCN) mentoring program which supports faculty development across the university.
Before joining Academic Affairs, Carmen managed the personnel activities for the Center for Biomaterials in the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) for over 7 years. She also supported the federally funded T32 Postdoctoral Training program, as well as undergraduate and graduate student summer research initiatives.
Carmen holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Rutgers and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Adult and Continuing Education with a focus on Human Resources Development at Rutgers University.
