Bio

Mariela Nohely Ramos is a Licensed Social Worker and certified school social worker based in New Jersey, as well as a bilingual clinician fluent in English and Spanish. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and Psychology from Rutgers University in New Jersey, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University in the City of New York.

In her current role as a lead clinician, Mariela delivers clinical interventions that support students with behavioral challenges and learning disabilities, working to integrate social-emotional regulation within the educational environment seamlessly. She also provides individual and family counseling, parent coaching, and in-community clinical services for children and young adults considered at risk.

With over six years of experience across diverse settings including schools, private practice, child advocacy centers, and nonprofit organizations Mariela employs evidence-based approaches such as directive play therapy, Internal Family Systems, and trauma-informed care. She is deeply committed to culturally responsive and inclusive practice.

Mariela’s professional mission centers on empowering children and families, promoting emotional wellness, and advancing social justice within educational and community contexts. Through her doctoral studies, she aspires to expand her clinical expertise and contribute research aimed at strengthening mental health supports for underserved populations, specifically children and families experiencing immigration-related trauma.

Outside of her professional work, Mariela enjoys strength training, attending concerts, and spending time with her Shih-Tzu puppy, Milo.
