Malya Hirshkowitz

Malya Hirshkowitz is a PhD student at the School of Social Work. She completed her BA in Spanish at Hamline University. After earning her undergraduate degree, she served as a Peace Corps Youth Development Volunteer in rural Ecuador, where she founded a soccer school for girls to promote female empowerment and enhance the mental and physical health of children and adolescents. She later earned her MSW from New York University. Upon completing her MSW, she worked in the non-profit sector in data analysis and program evaluation.
