Bio

Kaleena Rogers is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in New Jersey with a B.A. in Social Work from the Rutgers School of Arts & Sciences Newark Department of Social Work and an MSW from the Rutgers School of Social Work, specializing in mental health. She currently serves as the Associate Director of Practicum Education at the Rutgers School of Arts & Sciences Newark Department of Social Work, where she expertly bridges social work theory with practical application for students.


Kaleena's dedication to mentorship, empowerment, and community engagement is evident in her roles as the faculty advisor for the Rutgers University - Newark Social Work Student Organization (SWSO), Executive Chair of the Rutgers University-Newark Department of Social Work Alumni Group (RU-N DSWAG), and Secretary for the Rutgers Newark Alumni Association (RNAA). She also supports first-generation and low-income college students as a lead teaching instructor with the Rutgers University - Newark Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) – Academic Scholars Institute.


In addition to her academic and advisory roles, Kaleena is an active psychotherapist in a private practice, offering empathetic, solutions-focused, and client-centered psychotherapy to a diverse range of adolescent and adult clients. Her clinical expertise encompasses mental health challenges, life transitions, and interpersonal difficulties, with a particular focus on integrative health. Her social work career includes community-based services for at-risk youth, homeless youth, adults with severe mental health conditions, parent coaching, support for school-aged children, and assistance for the elderly.


Kaleena is excited to join the Rutgers University School of Social Work Doctor of Social Work (DSW) program, aiming to leverage research to enhance support systems and empower both new and experienced social workers. She is committed to elevating the visibility of the social work profession and fostering greater access to vital resources.
