Alumni Conversation | In Another World with My Therapist: Utilizing Geek Interventions in Therapy

This presentation will focus on tools, interventions, and approaches for integrating geek culture into therapeutic practice. As a follow-up to our previous presentation, the goal of this talk is to offer in-depth case examples, share specific techniques to use in session, and explore ways to focus on the client as the expert of their experiences. We will discuss and explore how to utilize geek culture for both clinicians who are already familiar and those who want to dip their toes in and better connect with geeky clients. This discussion is for beginners who are early in their clinical careers and advanced clinicians alike. This presentation will emphasize neurodiverse-affirming psychoeducation and approaches, along with explorations of the kinds of questions to ask clients in session.
