Emerging Adults, Emerging Activists: A College Activism Retrospective and Practitioners Guide

This MMP is a portal into the lives of students and professionals who are all grappling with the concept of activism. In my research with students engaging in social justice work, not a single student I’ve spoken to has claimed the title of ‘activist’ outright, despite their leading marches, launching campaigns, writing policy papers, or any of the dozens of other actions they’ve taken to fight for the causes they believe in. By exploring the historical roots of campus activism and its impact, challenging biases, cataloging best practices, and engaging in dialogue, this project is an opportunity for young activists to redefine, and claim, activism for themselves.
