Tangela C. Sawyerr

Tangela C. Sawyerr is an Assistant Director of Student Affairs and Assistant Professor of Teaching at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey School of Social Work. She has more than twenty years of social work experience in addiction, homelessness, and child protective services. Dr. Sawyerr's scholarly interest explores the multi-dimensional grief experiences of adult siblings. She is also committed to utilizing an intersectional approach to amplify research in underrepresented communities to advance grief equity and social justice within bereavement.
