The Role of Diversity in Trauma Treatment: Overcoming Barriers and Empowering Ethnic Diversity featuring Mayte Redcay, LCSW, LCADC
Trauma treatment requires culturally compassionate and responsive clinical interventions. Culture, race, ethnicity, gender, and other identities play a significant role in how trauma affects not only the individual but their treatment. Other factors such as mental illness and substance abuse will not only influence the outcome but are vital components in understanding the multifaceted issues such as intergenerational trauma. The purpose of this webinar is to explore how diversity plays a role in trauma, provides an overview of intergenerational trauma and the importance of incorporating cultural healing in treatment.
