This semester, two new campus coordinators were appointed. Dr. Natalie Moore-Bembry will be the coordinator for the BASW and MSW programs in Camden, and Charles Chear will work as the coordinator for the MSW program in Newark. Bembry and Chear also have assistant directorship positions in the MSW Student Affairs Offices on their respective campuses. Both will continue in their leadership roles in addition to this new responsibility.
Bembry’s research interests are cultural humility and cultural awareness of social work educators and students, and Chear's practice interests are Southeast Asian Americans and Muslim Americans from refugee backgrounds, community development and organizing, and cultural responsiveness in social work.
"I look forward to continuing work with MSW students, building critical relationships with departments at Rutgers-Newark, and ensuring campus needs are met," says Chear.
Bembry feels the same sense of anticipation in taking on this new responsibility. "I am excited for the opportunity to continue working with the BASW and MSW students here in Camden," she says. "I am certain we will continue the momentum that was set before me: building, strengthening, and bridging relationships with our students and the Rutgers-Camden community."
