Speak Up!: Black Lives Matter
Join us for "Speak Up!” an event in support of the 2020 Black Lives Matter at School Week of Action. Participants are invited to share poetry, music, readings, or personal stories and reflections on racial justice in education. Lunch will be provided.
This year, we invite reflections on the theme Things My Teacher Told Me. This prompt can be interpreted in a number of ways: a transformative lesson, a frustrating experience that inspired resistance, an encounter with a favorite piece of literature, or perhaps the things left unsaid in the classroom. In solidarity with Black Lives Matter At School events happening across the country, this event seeks to create space for reflection, dialogue, and visions of justice.
If you or your group is interested in getting involved, please contact Natalie Moore-Bembry at firstname.lastname@example.org.
