Gun Violence: Politics, Policy, & Prevention featuring The Honorable James J. Florio Former Governor of New Jersey
Following the tragedy in Florida, many of our students would like to join in the efforts of the survivors to create change on a national level by opening a conversation on gun control. The Honorable James Florio, former governor of New Jersey, was the first in the nation to enact a state-wide ban on assault weapons. He will share his experience, insight, and advice to students on this issue. A panel of distinguished advocates will respond to his remarks and students will have the opportunity to question the Governor and the panel members.
Register here, or visit sswgunviolence.eventbrite.com. Seating is limited and venue is subject to change. Event parking will be available for non-Rutgers parking permit holders in lots 26, 30, and the College Avenue Deck.
This event is made possible by a grant from the Andrew Goodman Foundation to better engage our students in both the electoral and public policy processes.
Light refreshments will be served. Livestreaming for this event will be available here.
