Annual PTL Teaching Conference: Pursuing the Truth and Justice: Keeping the Conversation Alive
Save the date for Rutgers School of Social Work's Annual PTL Teaching Conference: Pursing the Truth and Justice: Keeping the Conversation Alive on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 10am-2pm. All SSW faculty are invited. Presentations will include:
- "Ethical Reflexivity for Anti-Oppressive Social Work Practice" | Dr. David Byers , Assistant Professor, Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research at Bryn Mawr College. This presentation will address how to structure ethically reflexive dialogue with social work students as a component of anti-oppressive and anti-racist education and examine how to apply these concepts ethical dilemmas that students and instructors commonly encounter in social work education.
- "The Practice of Decolonizing the HBSE in Social Work" | Dr. Jemel Aguilar, Associate Professor, Southern Connecticut State University
- “Synchronous Remote Teaching and Adding Flipped tools to our Pedagogical Toolbox” | Rutgers Center for Teaching Advancement and Assessment Research (CTAAR). This presentation will address synchronous remote teaching with a special emphasis on the flipped classroom model.
