Rutgers University Model

The Rutgers University Model for Addressing and Preventing Sexual Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Harassment and Stalking on Campus is based on implementing best practices and evidence-informed methods of service provision and prevention programming. The model employs a “Whole School Approach ” as an organizing framework in that it utilizes multiple interventions and addresses violence on various levels while engaging numerous school and community stakeholders to shape programming, interventions and response. The model is comprehensive and incorporates flexible programming tailored to each campus’ unique environment and student body. The Rutgers Model also includes a rigorous evaluation process to inform and improve programming in an on-going manner.
