Outstanding Alumni Award
Congratulations to our 2017 Outstanding Alumni Award Recipient, Susan Darien '66!
Rutgers School of Social Work proudly presents its 2017 Outstanding Alumni Award to Susan Kinsley Darien for her demonstrated leadership, contributions to the social work field, and her action through her commitment to social work values and ethics.
A member of the MSW Class of 1966, Susan was selected for her rich career as a mental health clinician and private practitioner, as well as her participation in the National Association of Social Workers. She is being recognized in appreciation for her years of service on our alumni council, generosity toward social work and other Rutgers students, and her volunteer work with nonprofits throughout New Jersey.
Susan and her husband Steven RC'63 created the Darien Family Endowed Fellowship for the School of Social Work, and Susan worked to initiate the School of Social Work Alumni Association Opportunity Fellowship, as well as, the Alumni Association of the School of Social Work Endowed Fellowship. The Darien's generosity extends to other Rutgers projects including civic engagement at Eagleton Institute of Politics, Rutgers Future Scholars Program, Rutgers Athletics, and a Douglass College Scholarship.
