Multimedia Project Summary
In this MMP, I will provide a brief overview of Dr. Doka's work on disenfranchised grief and my clinical expansion upon his work to identify six unique types of living health losses, which I have labeled Underdiagnosed grief. Patients and their families struggle with coping with the living health losses, yet the emotional and mental toll of their illness is often neglected by healthcare providers. The MMP will review the types of Underdiagnosed grief and provide an assessment framework to identify and intervene with living health losses.
