Prospective Students What are the requirements to be admitted to the MSW Program?
You must be a graduate of an undergraduate School of Social Work that is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

Two or Four-Year Program:
You must hold an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university. We recommend a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and minimum of one to two years of paid or volunteer experience in the social work profession.
Can I apply to the MSW program to start in the Spring semester?
No, our program begins on two cycles.
If you hold an undergraduate degree in social work from an accredited school of social work, you can apply for the Advanced Standing Program, which begins in May of each year. Application Deadline February 27th.
If you do not hold an undergraduate degree in social work from an accredited school of social work, you can apply to our full or part-time program, which begins only in the Fall semester. Application Deadline March 30th.
I missed the deadline to apply to the School of Social Work. Do I have to wait until next year to apply?
You have several options:

Pre-Admission meetings are held in the Fall and Srping semesters. Please call the Office of Student Services at (732)932-7126 for dates and times.

You may want to consider enrolling in the School of Social Work's Continuing Education Courses called Professional Credit Courses (PCC) on a non-matriculated basis. These are fully transferable courses once admitted as a matriculated student in the MSW program, but they do not guarantee admission to the Program. The telephone number is 732-445-3173.

You will be required to fulfill a basic statistics requirement as a part of the MSW program. You may wish to enroll in an introductory statistics course either through the School of Social Work's Continuing Education Program, or at a local community college.
