Applying for the 2013-2014 MSW Fellowship in Aging

Fellows are selected based on their commitment to work with older adults and their families, as well as for their potential to serve as leaders for the field of aging.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Fellows must be entering their advanced year of field education (i.e., Field III) in the summer or fall of 2013.
  • Fellows must be on track for completing the coursework for the MSW Certificate in Aging before graduation.
  • In partnership with the School of Social Work's Field Education Office, Fellows must select a field placement that will allow them to complete a leadership project as part of their internship.

The online application is now available at http://www.instant.ly/s/PGpTS. In addition to the online application form, applicants must also email their resumes as a Microsoft Word attachment to Professor Kristin Scherrer (kscherrer@ssw.rutgers.edu). Current MSW student applications are due online by 5 p.m. on Wednesday March 13th and Advanced Standing student applications are due online by 5 p.m. on Monday April 1st.  Finalists for the fellowship will be invited for on-campus interviews later in the spring semester. Final selections will be made by April of 2013.
